Announcement: EC Consultation on the role of family farming, key challenges and priorities for the future

29 November 2013. Brussels. The Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Commission is organising a conference on "Family farming: A dialogue towards more sustainable and resilient farming in Europe and the world".

This conference will look at the role of family farming, some of their key challenges, as well as priorities for the future. This is being held in the context of the UN's declaration of 2014 as the International Year of Family Farming.
  • The final Conference Programme will be published in September.
  • Admission to this conference is by invitation only, but it will be possible to follow the work of the conference via webstreaming
  • The outcome of the conference will contribute to the FAO European Regional conference scheduled in 2014 in Bucharest (Romania) as well as other events related to family farming that will be organized in many EU Member States in the course of 2014.

This consultation seeks contributions towards the Europeanconference "Family farming: A dialogue towards more sustainable and resilient farming in Europe and the world" scheduled for 29 November 2013.
