Data-driven farming in Africa

16 September 2015. Brussels. ACP Secretariat. CTA, IFPRI, the ACP Secretariat, the European Commission, the Panafrican Farmer’s Organisation (PAFO) hosted a panel on Data-driven farming in Africa and Launch of the Sub-Saharan Africa Food Security Portal.
This panel brought various perspectives to the debate on data use for improved agricultural transformation in Africa.

01/09/2015. The Africa south of the Sahara Food Security Portal was presented on September 1 at a

side event during the 2015 ReSAKSS Conference. The event focused on “Providing Timely Data and Analysis to Improve Food Security in Africa.”

The objective of the portal is to provide a set of indicators on food and nutrition security and early warning mechanisms as well as opportunities for dialogue among policymakers, researchers, the private sector and others seeking to increase the resilience of the world’s poor to possible food-related crises, including price and climate shocks.
