The annual interdisciplinary conference on research in tropical and subtropical agriculture, natural resource management and rural development (TROPENTAG) is jointly organised by the universities of Berlin, Bonn, Göttingen, Hohenheim, Kassel-Witzenhausen, ZALF e.V., Ghent University (Belgium), Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (Czech Republic), BOKU Vienna (Austria) and the Council for Tropical and Subtropical Research (ATSAF e.V) in co-operation with the GIZ Advisory Service on Agricultural Research for Development (BEAF).

• Due to the current Corona pandemic Tropentag 2021 will be organised as a virtual conference by University of Hohenheim, Germany
• IFPRI is participating this year in the annual interdisciplinary conference on research in tropical and subtropical agriculture, natural resource management and rural development.
• A special session addressed the actualised conference topic “Food and nutrition security and its resilience to global crises”. 
• On the occasion of this conference a special session will be devoted to the presentation of the "Hans H. Ruthenberg-Graduate-Award" and the " Josef G. Knoll European Science Award 2020" by the fiat panisfoundation, Ulm.

14/09. Workshop 3: How to Reach Women Farmers with Innovative Extension Approaches: Insights from the Field

This workshop combined a series of short presentations on the topic of innovative extension approaches and their gendered impacts with a panel discussion including policymakers and practitioners from India, Kenya and Uganda. The practitioners are linked with the Reaching Smallholder Women with Information Services and Resilience Strategies to Respond to Climate Change. (2019 - 2021)

17/09. Workshop 10: 
Innov8Health – One Health Approaches for human, animal and environmental health in sub-Saharan Africa

A paradigm shift is urgently required to de-sectoralize human, animal, plant and ecosystem health and truly implement the ONE HEALTH approach. For this, interdisciplinary trained scientists and collaborative networks are prerequisite. The BWS Plus funded ‘Innov8Health’ Project (09/2021-08/2024) brings together partners from the Universities of Hohenheim and Tübingen, as well as from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) in Malawi to develop a joint online ONE HEALTH curriculum and strategic cooperation platform for research, training and innovation on related topics.
