Echoing Green helps emerging social entrepreneurs
around the world with grants of seed capital and technical assistance to
support their start-up organizations. Seed funding of up to US$80 thousand over
18 months is offered to for-profit organizations in the form of recoverable

management, smallholder farming, climate change, and other societal challenges

two-week academic summer programs for high school students from all around the
world. The program offers four interdisciplinary sessions on campus at Yale

for need-based financial aid. Furthermore, YYGS will waive the application fee

The D-Prize funds pilot projects that more
widely distribute relatively low-cost products and services in the fight
against poverty. The current challenges include social enterprises for

launch nonprofits or social ventures that can distribute proven poverty
interventions to people in need. Eligibility to compete extends to

The Japan Science and Technology Agency, in
collaboration with the Japan International Collaboration Agency, calls for
proposals for the Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable
Development (SATREPS). Proposals are invited in the following research fields:
environment/energy; bio-resources; and disaster prevention and mitigation. The
SATREPS program provides funding of approx. ¥ 100 million per project per year.
Researchers external to Japan should consult their national government agency

TWAS funds selected TWAS members to assist

a period of five years, each funded professor will be expected to make three

an expression of interest to pilot a new or existing policy initiative that can
be evaluated using experimental evaluation techniques. Funding for the

The iF Social Impact Prize aims to publish
and support design projects that contribute to solving urgent challenges and

The School Enterprise Challenge is an
international business program for schools run by the educational charity Teach
A Man To Fish. It guides and supports teachers and students to plan and set up
real, sustainable school businesses and generate real profits to help support

Prizes are between US$250 and US$5 thousand, including in-kind donations like
laptops and cameras. Please note that only pre-primary schools, primary

Network - Youth Initiative (SDSN Youth) recruits participants for its 2021
cohort of the Local Pathways Fellows. The 10-months fellowship program provides

Fellowship is unpaid. Fellows will benefit from global visibility and exposure.

U.S. Agency for International Development

Development (USAID) seeks applications for a cooperative agreement to implement
the USAID Feed The Future (Promoting Innovative and Resilient Agriculture
Market Systems) program in Mozambique. Feed The Future supports producers and

profitability using a market systems development approach, while increasing
their resilience to climate change. USAID intends to provide approximately
US$25.5 million in total USAID funding over a 5 year period. Eligibility for

The Reforestation Grant Program supports
communities in deforested and degraded landscapes through forest restoration
and reforestation. Reforestation grants are made to local organizations that

eco-regions are listed in the announcement. Project budgets should not exceed

average grant size of about $160 thousand for 2 years. There are no

The Marine Stewardship Council invites
fisheries, scientists, NGOs and postgraduates to apply for grants from the
Ocean Stewardship Fund. The fund supports best practices in sustainable fishing
with the aim to increase the number of sustainable fisheries around the world.
Grants are also available to support small-scale fisheries and fisheries in the
developing world. Furthermore, the Student Research Grant awards funding to
support postgraduate students who are carrying out research with fisheries
engaged or working towards the MSC program. The two priorities in 2022 are

global competition for innovative solutions to increase economic value to
farmers, from seed to sale. Registration is free and open to anyone, with a
US$1 million grand prize available for the winning team, and US$1 million in

independent panel of expert judges will select up to 25 teams to receive US$10
thousand each. In the finalist round, teams develop their prototypes and

Research? supports advanced research and study by individuals. The fellowships
are generally awarded to individuals in mid-career from all around the world
who have established themselves in academia, public service, or in the private

forest soils, forest resource management, conservation and biodiversity issues,
forest land planning, and the arts. The Bullard Fellowship is a residential
program and Fellows are expected to spend a substantial portion at either

Right Sharing of World Resources (RSWR)
makes seed grants to support income-generating projects led by women. RSWR's
current priorities are grassroots organizations selected states and districts
of India; Quaker groups in Kenya and Sierra Leone. Projects include many in the
production and sale of fruits and vegetables; meat and milk; grain crops; fish;
fuelwood; and other enterprises associated with small-scale agriculture and
rural livelihoods. Grants are usually up to a maximum US$5,500 per year (but

and Natural Resources Management (MEDfOR) is a two-year international program
in the field of Forestry and Sustainability. The MEDfOR Consortium includes
seven European universities with expertise in Mediterranean forestry. The

participation costs, travel costs and a monthly subsistence allowance will be

iF International Forum Design GmbH

The iF Social Impact Prize aims to publish
and support design projects that contribute to solving urgent challenges and
help to improve living conditions in the developing world. Solutions should

business program for schools run by the educational charity Teach A Man To

Network - Youth Initiative (SDSN Youth) recruits participants for its 2021
cohort of the Local Pathways Fellows. The 10-months fellowship program provides

Right Sharing of World Resources

Right Sharing of World Resources (RSWR)
makes seed grants to support income-generating projects led by women. RSWR's
current priorities are grassroots organizations selected states and districts
of India; Quaker groups in Kenya and Sierra Leone. Projects include many in the
production and sale of fruits and vegetables; meat and milk; grain crops; fish;
fuelwood; and other enterprises associated with small-scale agriculture and
rural livelihoods. Grants are usually up to a maximum US$5,500 per year (but
many are considerably smaller), for a maximum of five years. The next
application deadline is 30 December 2021. (However, RSWR recommends earlier
submissions of at least a month prior to the deadline to allow time for
revisions.)
German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)

The DAAD offers scholarships to qualified
individuals from eligible developing countries for post-graduate studies at
German universities in development-related subjects. The program (EPOS) is open
to individuals who completed their previous academic degrees no longer than six
years previously; who have at least two years of professional experience; and
who are nationals of countries receiving official development assistance (DAC
list of the OECD). The available courses range across water resources;
renewable energy; land management and tenure; agricultural sciences; forest sciences;
ecology; nature conservation; environmental governance; and many others. Most
scholarship deadlines for the 2022-2023 intake fall between August 2021 through
December 2021, varying by courses (check carefully).

makes research grants and scholarships to students worldwide (but mainly South
African citizens) to pursue studies in all areas of Science, Engineering,
Technology, Social Sciences and Humanities. The allocation of funds is
demand-driven. There is no maximum or minimum proposal request. The NRF makes
one call for proposals starting in February of each year. Please note that
institutions set their own much earlier internal closing dates for
applications, therefore, applicants must check the deadlines of each individual

The United People Global (UPG)
Sustainability Leadership training program offers young leaders from all over
the world the opportunity to participate in an immersive 1-week experience on
an island in the USA. UPG seeks young people (18-35 years) who want to take
positive action that helps the world tackle a sustainability challenge to
achieve any of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 500 young leaders
will be selected to participate in an online program and receive a
certification after successful completion of the online training. 60
participants will have the chance to attend the complimentary 1-week training
in the USA (all costs of the program will be covered). Applications close 31
