Youth Agriculture session. 

Mainstreaming; youth specific efforts to enforce the role of young people in African agricultural transformation for sustainable food security. Africa is facing high levels of unemployment among the youth, a rapid trends of urbanization, and unsustainable agricultural food systems. With the high population gradually there is a need for more diverse agricultural produce. How do young people raise money to invest in agribusiness?

  • Zindaba Hanzala - Founder- Mulimi Farmers, Zambia The Mulimi scheme deals in Agro funding, Agro insurance, Agro extension services, sales and marketing of agriculture products. These services are only available to members under the scheme.

  • Solape Akinpelu, Co-founder/CEO HerVest, Nigeria 
    This fintech wants to bring financial inclusion to more African women. In
    August 2020, Solape teamed up with Yomi Ogunleye to found Lagos, Nigeria-based HerVest, a startup that describes itself as “an inclusive fintech company” serving underserved and excluded women in Africa through a gender lens.
