  • The Africa Climate Action Summit is being co-hosted by the Government of Kenya and the African Union Commission and is co-convened by the African Development Bank and GCA.
  • The Summit will coalesce partners, including international financial institutions and the private sector, around accelerating adaptation financing and climate action leading into the United Nations Secretary-General’s Climate Action Summit and COP28.
  • ACW 2023 will be organized into four systems-based tracks, each focusing on specific themes: Energy systems and industry. Cities, urban and rural settlements, infrastructure and transport. Land, ocean, food and water.

  • three days of insightful discussions, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities will take place online through three tracks: Inclusion, Innovation, and Inspiration. Additionally, there will be ICTforAg+ regional events happening around the world.
  • ICTforAg is an annual convening where agrifood system stakeholders, technology experts, and enthusiasts gather to share knowledge, find solutions, and form partnerships to address challenges in agrifood systems across low and middle-income countries. In 2022, the online ICTforAg event attracted over 3,000 participants from 123 countries. Starting from 2023, CGIAR will be hosting the event series to support the theme of Cultivating Inclusion, ensuring that digital innovations equitably benefit all agrifood systems actors across low and middle-income countries.

  • Conference to showcase achievements of EU food systems related projects, explore future research and innovation orientations and levers of change. 
  • The EC aims to convene a wide range of actors and policy makers for this in-person event, which will also be web streamed and recorded for those unable to travel.

26 February to 1 March 2024. 5th All Africa Horticulture Congres (AAHC)
  • The preliminary programme is available online and abstract submission is open until November 2023.
  • This fifth edition of the AAHC, initiated in 2009 by GlobalHort, will complement the African sub-regions hosting the event.
  • The event will strengthen scientific relations and partnerships between North Africa and sub-Saharan Africa, and highlight the place and role of horticulture in meeting the continent's global challenges: food and nutritional security, youth employment, and sustainable management of natural resources (water and biodiversity).
