Africa Energy Forum

20-24 June 2023. Nairobi. Africa Energy Forum

Held under the patronage of Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum, the 25th Africa Energy Forum (AEF) gathered governments and business leaders in the energy sector to identify opportunities, form partnerships, and move the energy industry forward.

Sessions featured insights from energy ministers and heads of utilities on project pipelines and cover a range of topics, including the pace and scale of renewable energy projects in Africa, capital flows and risk mitigation in energy markets, and regional power markets. New session streams for 2023 focused on: 
  1. mining, 
  2. critical minerals, 
  3. energy; 
  4. and Africa’s opportunity in hydrogen.
The Youth Energy Summit (YES!), aimed to boost the connections and skills of a new generation of African energy leaders, will convene alongside the Forum.

The Youth Energy Summit (YES!)

the EnergyNet’s YES! Youth Energy Summit was launched at the Africa Energy Forum in Brussels 21 - 24 June 2022.


This 2023 summit aimed to boost the connections and skills of a new generation of African energy leaders, will convene alongside the Forum.

YES! is partnering with corporates, foundations, NGOs, universities, and other initiatives across the globe. YES! will support hundreds of Africans in public and private sector roles learn how to develop and prosper, with both soft and technical skills, and the opportunity to meet with peers and senior influencers from across the continent. Working with partner organisations, YES! will amplify access to the many complementary initiatives that are becoming available across the continent. YES! is actively seeking partners as we scale up.
