04/05/2022. Side event: The key role of digital technologies in enhanced climate action and SDG achievement

This event, discussed and showcased digitization technologies such as UAVs and sensor-based irrigation which can bolster food security, diversify livelihoods, and reverse gender inequality. Blockchain can be applied in both climate mitigation and adaptation for climate finance mobilization, facilitation of access to data, and development of digital infrastructure for climate markets.
The event exhibited ways in which the CTCN and its implementing partners are improving capacity for applying these technologies. It discussed the potential for scale-up of digital technologies to enable broader transformational change.

IAAI GloCha and partners presented ongoing work with the DigitalArt4Climate initiative https://digitalart4climate.space/ and the MENA regional network on Blockchain4Climate as social and technological innovations which enable meaningful and rewarding youth climate action empowerment and creative economy in the run-up to the UN Climate Change conferences COP27 (2022 in Egypt) and COP27 (in 2023 in UAE).
This event made a special contribution by GSTIC, one of the most important academic partners of the STI Forum since its inception. The session will feature key technology solutions for the SDGs and means and ways to get engaged and make a difference.

This book (2011) was written as the part of outcome from The International Workshop and Training “the Role of Business Incubators in Developing Green Technology-Based SMEs” conducted by APEC Small and Medium Enterprise Working Group at Yogyakarta, Indonesia on 27-29 September 2011. The intention was to provide a practical manual on the guidelines for business incubator management to implement plans to nurture new green technology-based SMEs, and information about examples of successful green technology based SMEs, most of them are incubatees from business and technology incubators in the APEC member economies.
