Peanut & Mycotoxin Innovation Lab: a blog about leading science in peanut and food security.

The Peanut and Mycotoxin Innovation Lab (PMIL) applies innovative science to improve peanut production and use, raise awareness on nutrition, and increase food safety in developing countries.

The University of Georgia (UGA) College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) hosts the Management Entity responsible for directing the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Collaborative Research on Peanut Productivity and Mycotoxin Control (PMIL). UGA and its U.S. and international partners join other Feed the Future Innovation Labs based at top U.S. universities and developing country research institutions to tackle some of the world’s greatest challenges in agriculture and food security.

The Legume Scholars Program is a partnership between the CGIAR Research Program on Grain Legumes and the Feed the Future Innovation Labs for Collaborative Research on Grain Legumes and Peanut Productivity and Mycotoxin Control. Graduates from the program will further strengthen the research capacity of institutions in their home countries committed to the growth and development of the legume sectors through scientific inquiry.

14-16 July 2015. Charleston, SC USA. The American Peanut Research and Education Society is hosting an annual meeting. The Peanut & Mycotoxin Innovation Lab, and many other international research experts, will have discussions including technical sessions on original research. There is also a symposium for the general session.

The PEANUT Rx program, created by researchers from the University of Georgia, University of Florida, Auburn University and Mississippi State University, allows producers to predict the advantages of using various crop management strategies. Growers can now access this information in the field, on the tractor or in their truck, thanks to the new app.

UGA is leading peanut research and training efforts for producers around the world through its Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Collaborative Research on Peanut and Mycotoxin. It's an initiative designed to help developing countries increase their yields by providing information from some of the top peanut agronomists in the world.
