- This second online session will use stories from AFSA’s My Food is African book as a stimulant to discussion around moving towards healthy eating for all, based on traditional and local foods, diets and cuisines. What’s holding it back? Why? What can be done about it? How to turn the tide that’s increasingly seeing highly processed foods coming into our diets? How to value the richness of our traditional foods and diets? How to enable more people to have access to this? And so on.

This panel will explore the opportunities, and strategies for improving food security and promote peace through trade and investment.
- 05/10 @11:00 – 12:30 Session 10 Technology for Resilience: Strategies can be adopted to capitalize on the growing evidence that internet availability enhances job creation, and that poverty reduction policies to boost DTs will fuel more and better jobs for the continent, which is poised to have the largest workforce by 2030. The session will focus on how to increase productive use of digital technologies to transform economies and create jobs. It will be a practical session to learn from the experience of innovative projects across the continent.

Digitalization of Research and Development in Sub-Saharan Africa: national development policies such as Ethiopia's homegrown reform agenda and Ethiopia’s Ten Years Perspective Plan (TYPP 2021–2030) (Ethiopia Vision 2030, 2021) all require R and D for the use of science, technology, and innovation (STI). The overarching objective of this project proposal is to construct sectoral infrastructure and assess research data management policies and practices in ministry level in order to develop a strategic and comprehensive framework that depicts real coordination among ICT department for science, technology and innovation-based research development, thus setting a strong agenda for national development in Ethiopia.
- Family Farmer Organizations, members of the Collective Action on Participatory Research in Family Farming – AFA, COPROFAM, ESAFF, PDRR, PIFON, PROPAC –, will share concrete success experiences on active collaboration between farmers, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to collectively address agricultural challenges and co-create sustainable solutions.
