KU Leuven is the largest university in Flanders, Belgium. As one part of its cooperation to advance international development, KU Leuven offers 10 PhD scholarships to candidates from developing countries. The university offers sandwich scholarships, which means that 50% of the research takes place at KU Leuven and 50% at the home institution of the scholar, as well as full-time research at KU Leuven (4 years). The scholarships are offered to proposals that deal with a development-relevant research topic, preferably linked to the Sustainable Development Goals. Online applications have to be completed before 11 March 2021.

Technovation invites teams of girls from all over the world to learn and apply the skills needed to solve real-world problems through technology. Girls work with women mentors, find a problem in their community and develop a mobile app to launch a startup. Categories may include environment, poverty, health, and others. The Mo Ibrahim Foundation financially supports the Ibrahim Leadership Fellowship position in the African Development Bank. The Fellowship allows talented individuals to increase and enhance their professional capacity, with the intention of contributing to the governance and development of their countries. The priority for the 2021 selection of the Mo Ibrahim Fellow includes energy (“lighting up and powering Africa”); agriculture (“feeding Africa”); and others. The Fellowship is for young professionals, mid-career, and/or new executives who are nationals of an African country, residing anywhere in the world. The application deadline is 15 March 2021.

The Biovision Foundation, in partnership with the Agropolis Foundation, awards the SHIFT Prize to recognize collaborative and transdisciplinary research for development projects and initiatives that have made exemplary contributions to the agroecological transformation of food systems. The winning project will receive €20 thousand unrestricted funding to support its further development and strengthen its impacts. Eligibility extends to projects and initiatives contributing to an evidence-based food system transformation anywhere in the world. The application deadline is 15 March 2021.

Society of American Foresters

The Gregory Award gives students or early-career professionals from developing countries the opportunity to attend the annual Society of American Foresters (SAF) National Convention (November 2021, California, USA). The award offers one individual complimentary registration and US$2 thousand to cover travel costs. Applicants must demonstrate past performance and contribute to their home or host country’s forestry education, government, or industry. Applications have to be completed by 15 March 2021.

Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund

Taiwan's program of development assistance includes scholarships for university students in eligible developing countries to study in Taiwan. The program provides full scholarships for applicants from selected countries in the Asia-Pacific region, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean region, Latin America, and certain other countries. Subject areas at Taiwan's participating universities include tropical agriculture, aquaculture technology and management, environmental sustainable development, and others. Undergraduate students receive NT$12 thousand per month as an allowance, Masters students receive NT$15 thousand per month, and PhD students receive NT$17 thousand per month, plus travel, fees and other costs for the program. The application deadline is 15 March 2021.

UN Global Compact

UN Global Compact invites nominations and applications to the 2021 SDG Pioneer program. SDG Pioneer celebrates individuals and businesses behind sustainability in global and local markets. UN Global Compact encourages professionals working at any level of a UN Global Compact-participating company who are leveraging a principles-based approach to set ambitious, scalable and impactful Sustainable Development Goal targets to apply. World Habitat

The World Habitat Awards (WHA) demonstrate solutions to current housing issues faced by countries worldwide. The WHA takes a broad perspective to include energy, waste management, water conservation, resilience to natural disasters, and other environmental aspects in its definition of habitat. The Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation invites participants to apply for new short-term courses in 2021. Wageningen University & Research offers a wide range of online courses to support professionals. Courses have different deadlines and locations. Thematic areas include Climate Change, Water Management, Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock, and many others. Most courses are open to professionals of government departments, NGOs and civil society organizations, businesses, development agencies, universities and colleges for higher education, and individual consultants. Courses are eligible for scholarships through the Orange Knowledge Programme, the MENA Scholarship Programme and WWF Professional Development Grants, each with different deadlines. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations

FAO and the Federal Government of Switzerland invite applications for the International Innovation Award for Sustainable Agriculture on the theme ‘Innovation to transform food systems’. Individuals, private companies and institutions worldwide may submit agricultural innovations (digital innovation, products, or practices) that contribute to the environmental, economic and social dimensions of sustainable development. The innovation award is divided in two categories: Category A (US$ 30 thousand) for excellence in digitization and innovation for sustainable food systems; Category B (US$ 30 thousand) recognizes an innovation that specifically empowers youth (under 35) in sustainable food systems. The call closes on 19 March 2021.

Agropolis Foundation

The Agropolis Fondation aims to foster new collaborations across agricultural research disciplines and/or stakeholders for co-learning (i.e., cross-learning between researchers from different disciplines, between academic and non-academic actors, or between researchers and PhD students). This call will fund the research and training needs of postdoc scientists, PhD students, young early-career scientists, and summer schools. The Agropolis Fondation intends to award two Post-doctoral Fellowships (of up to €68 thousand per project), four partial doctoral Fellowships (of up to €65 thousand per project), five young scientist research proposals (of up to €20 thousand per project), and four thematic summer or winter schools (of up to €20 thousand per project). Please note that the proposal for thematic schools has to be co-submitted by a Sub-Saharan African institution. The deadline for the submission of proposals is 20 March 2021.

French-African Foundation

The French-African Foundation invites applications for Young Leaders 2021. The program recognizes and supports young leaders to become true agents of change in relation to global challenges. Candidates must be between 28 and 40 years old and have French nationality or the nationality of an African country. Successful candidates will spend five days in France, five days in Senegal, engage in high-level meetings and receive training and mentorship. Flights and accommodation will be provided. The deadline for applications is 21 March 2021.

Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences

The Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Japan make research awards in agriculture. Up to three young agricultural researchers with outstanding research proposals in agriculture, forestry, fisheries and related themes will receive US$5 thousand each to further their research. Applicants must be nationals of a developing country, and belong to a non-Japanese research institute or a non-Japanese university. Candidates need to be younger than age 40 to be eligible. The deadline for applications is 22 March 2021.

Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education

The Orange Knowledge Program (OKP) makes scholarships to mid-career professionals from selected developing countries for short courses (duration 2 weeks to 12 months) and master's programs (duration 12-24 months). Eligible countries as well as eligible courses are listed in the announcement. Interested applicants need to first select a course and then contact the education institution of the course and ask how to apply for the scholarship. The scholarship program offers three application rounds each year. The current application deadlines are 23 March, 29 June and 12 October 2021.

European Commission

The European Commission (EC) seeks to help reduce malnutrition and food insecurity in the Indian Ocean region (Mauritius, Comoros, Madagascar, Seychelles). EC intends to grant a total of €5 million for the increase and diversification of agricultural production, €400 thousand to improve the nutritional situation of vulnerable populations in Mauritius and Seychelles, and €1.6 million to improve the nutritional situation of vulnerable populations in Madagascar and the Comoros. Eligibility extends to non-governmental organizations, producer organizations, farmers' organizations, cooperatives, social enterprises, and international organizations. The deadline for submission of concept notes is 26 March 2021.

MarTERA

Deadline: 26 March 2021

MarTERA provides funding to collaborative research and innovation projects. The call identifies the following priority areas: (1) environmentally friendly maritime technologies; (2) innovative concepts for ships and offshore structures; (3) automation, sensors, monitoring and observations; (4) advanced manufacturing and production, (5) safety and security. Applicants from Belarus, Belgium, Germany, Malta, Norway, Poland, Romania, South Africa, and Turkey are eligible for funding. The transnational call has a budget of €8.5 million. The deadline for the submission of pre-proposals is 26 March 2021.

African Leadership Academy

The Anzisha Prize seeks young innovators ages 15-22 in Africa who develop and implement innovative solutions to challenges facing their communities. Past awards include innovations in energy, agriculture, and ecological consumer products. The grand prize winners will share prizes worth US$100 thousand. Applicants must be nationals of an African country with a business based in Africa for African customers/beneficiaries. The next application closes 30 March 2021.

Aga Khan Foundation

The Aga Khan Foundation supports programs in rural development, broadly defined, in a number of developing countries. It provides scholarships and loans for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from the developing world, with priority for masters studies. The Foundation also considers applications for PhD programs in certain circumstances. Applications are invited from the following nationalities: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar and Mozambique. The Foundation assists students with tuition fees and living expenses only. Please note that half of the scholarship amount is considered as a loan, which must be reimbursed. The application deadline is 31 March 2021, but earlier in some countries (please check the dates carefully).

Columbia Center on Sustainable Development

Columbia University invites applications for a training course on Sustainable Investments in Agriculture. Due to the current global situation, the 2021 training program will be held virtually, not in-person. The training will be made freely available to accepted participants from non-profit organizations and government officials from low- and middle-income countries. Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis until 31 March 2021.

Connecting Dreams Foundation

The Connecting Dreams Foundation accepts proposals for the Global Changemaker Fellowship. The Fellowship is a 10 month program intended to develop Social Change Leaders who are focused on handling challenges in their local communities. Fellows participate in workshops, receive training and mentorship while implementing their local initiative. The program is intended for young leaders aged 13-30 years with an entrepreneurial mindset and approach towards solving community-centric challenges. Students in school, college, university and working professionals working on an initiative to create a social change along the lines of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are invited to apply. Future Food

Future Food – A Swiss Research Initiative awards up to ten postdoc fellowships each year to further expand research and education in the area of food and nutrition sciences. The fellowship provides personal research funds for three years, enabling fellows to work on their projects in a Swiss research laboratory. The total funds per fellowship may not exceed CHF390 thousand. Applicants must hold a doctorate (PhD). There is no restriction on nationality. The deadline for applications via the online form is 31 March 2021.

International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology

The Arturo Falaschi Fellowships Program offers long and short-term fellowships to assist in the training of scientists from ICGEB's member states, including many developing countries. The fellowships are for research at collaborating universities in the UK, Italy, India, and South Africa. For short-term PhD fellowships, the application deadline is 31 March and 31 September 2021. For doctoral fellowships, the application deadline is 31 March 2021. For post-doctoral fellowships, the deadlines are 31 March and 30 September 2021.

Mama Cash

Mama Cash makes grants in support of grassroots women’s rights groups that focus on environmental justice, for example, groups that address the exclusion of indigenous women from decision-making over their land and groups that fight for their right to water, food, and a clean, safe, and healthy environment. Grants can be used for advocacy, capacity building, public education, or forming alliances across movements. The average grant size is between €20-30 thousand per year. Letters of Interest (LOIs) must be submitted by 31 March 2021.

New England Biolabs Foundation

The New England Biolabs Foundation makes grants to grassroots and charitable organizations to support conservation of biological diversity; ecosystem services; community food security; and marine environment. The geographical scope focuses on regions (specified on the website) in Central America; South America, and West Africa. The maximum grant size is US$10 thousand. Most grants are US$3 thousand to US$8 thousand. The deadlines for submission of LOIs are 31 March 2021 and 20 August 2021.

NextWorldNow Community Investments

NextWorldNow (NWN) is committed to working with community leaders who are solving difficult social problems. This includes social problems related to water, sanitation, deforestation, smallholder productivity, and food security -- among other subject areas. Grants are up to US$10 thousand. To apply, community organizations submit a short "Notification of Interest" to register their intent to submit a formal grant application. NWN will screen the initial requests and forward a full application form to selected community organizations. The deadline to submit a Notification of Interest is 31 March 2021.

Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture

The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), in partnership with Mastercard Foundation, provides Masters Scholarships to citizens of any African country for studies at Egerton University in Kenya and Gulu University in Uganda. The scholarships are intended for disadvantaged, marginalized communities and those coming from conflict and post conflict areas. For the academic year 2021/2022, 30 Scholarships will be made available, of which 50% will be for Kenya and Uganda nationals. About 50% of the scholarships will be awarded to female applicants. The deadline to apply is 31 March 2021.

Tony Elumelu Foundation

The Tony Elumelu Foundation fosters and supports start-up enterprises in Africa. The TEF Entrepreneurship Program provides mentoring, training, forums, seed capital, and alumni support to individuals in Africa proposing new business ideas or early-stage companies in sectors that include agriculture, among others. Participants receive up to US$5 thousand in seed capital. The program is open to citizens and legal residents ages 18 and older in any African country. UNESCO

The UNESCO-Equatorial Guinea International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences rewards projects and activities of individuals, institutions, and NGOs for scientific research in the life sciences leading to improving the quality of human life. Projects in life sciences contribute to poverty eradication, improved health, food and water security. Nominations are submitted by governments of UNESCO's member states, and by NGOs maintaining official relations with UNESCO that are active in the fields covered by the Prize. The Prize amount of US$350 thousand may be equally divided among a maximum of three laureates. The closing date for submissions (English, French) is 31 March 2021.

Volkswagen Foundation

Through its program 'Freigeist' the Volkswagen Foundation seeks open-minded, strong and resistant young researchers with innovative ideas from all around the world. The 'Freigeist' scheme is open to all disciplines and research topics and offers the opportunity to establish a career within a scientific research organization or university in Germany. Eligibility extends to junior researchers (up to 4 years of postdoctoral experience). Depending on the field of research and career experience, projects in a total amount of up to €2.2 million for up to 5 years may be granted. The deadline for applications is 01 April 2021.

Halcyon

The Halcyon Incubator program equips early-stage social entrepreneurs from all around the world with support to transform their ideas into scalable and sustainable ventures. Ventures may be for-profit, hybrid, or undecided, as long as the core mission is to create measurable social change. (Note: This may include business ideas in agriculture, sustainable energy, or sustainable development.) Ventures structured as ‘non-profit’ will only be considered if they have a product or service they are selling. Partnerships (ventures co-founded and led by two individuals) are eligible. Selected entrepreneurs will receive a $10 thousand stipend per venture for food and living expenses during the residency phase, mentorship, one-on-one coaching, and 5 months of free workspace at Halcyon House. Applications are accepted until 09 April 2021.

Common Fund for Commodities

The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) provides financial and technical instruments to support projects proposed by enterprises, cooperatives and institutions. Funding is targeted mainly to for-profit organizations and social enterprises for production, value chains, and marketing across a wide group of commodities (agricultural crops, fisheries, tree crops, timber, bamboo and rattan, minerals, and others). Projects need to focus on economic, social and environmental sustainability. Innovative solutions for new agritech applications, access to renewable energy, or expanding environmental services are especially welcome. The deadline is 15 April 2021.

European Commission

The European Commission (EC) seeks to promote the socio-economic development of Chad through a reduction in malnutrition. The call aims to increase access to irrigated land and the sustainable optimization of the use of water resources, and promotes the diversification of food systems and agricultural production to support rural producers and families. Funding of up to €3 million is available, depending on target region and focus area. Projects need to have a duration of between 46 and 48 months. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations. The deadline for submitting applications is 15 April 2021.

Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture

The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) sponsors a competition for young African entrepreneurs (< 35 years) to showcase their business innovations in agribusiness. Although the focus of the competition is agribusiness, business innovations in other themes (e.g., natural resources, meteorology, urbanization, green economy, etc.) will also be considered. Competition will provide seed funding to young entrepreneurs with creative and innovative business ideas. The competition is open to all African countries. Submissions are invited in English or French before 15 April 2021.

World Academy of Sciences

The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) invites women scientists in the field of agriculture (and other sciences) from science and technology lagging countries to apply for the OWSD PhD Training Fellowships. Each fellow will receive a monthly allowance to cover basic living expenses, a special allowance to attend international conferences, travel expenses, medical insurance, and the opportunity to attend regional science communications workshops for up to four years. Applications will be accepted until 15 April 2021.

Coimbra Group of Universities

The Coimbra Group is an association of long-established European universities committed to creating academic and cultural ties in order to promote internationalization. Towards this end, the Coimbra Group offers scholarships to encourage short-term professional and academic experiences in Europe by applicants from Africa, Latin America, and the European Neighborhood. European Commission

The European Union intends to boost innovation in agriculture and food systems transformation of partner countries with a view to be more resilient to the effects of climate change. The European Commission calls for applied research projects to address climate change adaptation and resilience of family farming in Angola. The priority of this call is to find options for the improvement of family farming, test them, and assess their contribution to resilience. Grant funding ranges from €800 thousand to €1 million. Eligibility extends to universities, agriculture research institutions, and international organizations. Applicants must have proven experience in conducting operational research projects in developing countries in the following areas: agriculture, livestock, climate change/environment, community development, agroforestry and food security. The application deadline is 16 April 2021.

Athens Photo World

Athens Photo World seeks applications from professional photojournalists for the Yannis Behrakis International Photojournalism Award. Athens Photo World will award €15 thousand to a completed project of reportage or documentary photography, created within the last 3 years. Photographers can submit a portfolio of up to twenty-four (24) photographs. Submissions have to be received by 18 April 2021.

Australian Government

The Australian government contributes to the education of talented individuals in the developing countries through its scholarship programs. Subject areas for study correspond to priorities of Australia's aid programs by regions and countries -- and include agriculture, energy, natural resources, and environment. The call lists countries that are eligible for Australia Awards Scholarships, and country-specific eligibility criteria. The application period for the 2021-2022 scholarships is 01 February 2021 through 30 April 2021.

ETH Zurich

Engineering for Development (E4D) awards two doctoral scholarships per year and promotes projects that are directly relevant for improving the livelihoods of underprivileged people in low-income countries. Funding of CHF175 thousand is available to cover salary costs of selected doctoral students for three years. Interested candidates have to find an ETH professor who supports their application. The deadline for submissions of concept notes is 30 April 2021.

Fiat Panis Foundation

Foundation Fiat Panis calls for nominations for the Justus von Liebig-Award for World Nutrition for outstanding achievements in the fight against hunger and poverty. Contributions can be scientific contributions to research and teaching in the field of agricultural sciences, entrepreneurial and organizational services, achievements of a humanitarian nature, or contributions to the communication of world food problems and possible solutions. The prize may be awarded an individual or institution. The winner receives €25 thousand. The deadline for submission of nominations is 30 April 2021. Self-nominations are not possible.

Fiat Panis Foundation

The Fiat Panis Foundation makes awards for university thesis and dissertation research in themes of agriculture, ecology and natural resources, with a focus on food security in developing countries. The Hans Hartwig Ruthenberg Graduate Award is €7.5 thousand in support of qualified young scientists by honoring their excellent master thesis in the field of food security. French Ministry of Research and Education

LabexMER is a program of France's Ministry of Research and Education to address key questions about the global ocean, the deep ocean, and the coastal ocean. LabexMER offers four two-year postdoctoral fellowships for international young scientists to propose research projects in marine sciences to be carried out in one or several LabexMER laboratories in western France. Fellows will receive an annual salary of €37 thousand and support to cover travel expenses, equipment and supplies (€5 thousand per year). The deadline for applications is 30 April 2021.

Indian National Academy of Sciences

India's National Science Academy administers the JRD-Tata Fellowships to support visiting scientists from the developing world and promote South-South cooperation. The program is open to applicants from developing countries (except India) younger than age 45, and who possess doctorate or masters degrees in science or equivalent degrees in engineering/medicine. Past participants have included several in agriculture, biological sciences, and geo-sciences. The fellowship is for three months and includes transportation, maintenance allowance, accommodation, and contingencies. The application deadlines are 30 April and 31 October of each year.

International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology

The ICGEB Research Grants support projects in agricultural biotechnology, basic life sciences, bioenergy, and many other fields. The grants are intended to facilitate the creation of research facilities in promising institutes; to promote training of young scientists; and to develop new research programs in participating countries. The program is open to applicants who have positions at universities and research institutes in ICGEB's member states. Grants are a maximum of €25 thousand per year for projects of up to 36 months. The deadline for submitting applications is 30 April 2021.

United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization

The UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development honors outstanding efforts of individuals, institutions, organizations or other entities engaged in activities on Education for Sustainable Development. Nominated projects and programs should address the three integrated dimensions of sustainability -- society, economy, and environment -- in innovative ways. The Prize consists of three annual awards of US$50 thousand each. Nominations can be submitted by governments of UNESCO member states, and by NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO. Women's World Summit Foundation

The Women’s World Summit Foundation (WWSF) invites nominations for its annual Prize for Women’s Creativity in Rural Life. The prize honors women's groups for exceptional creativity, courage, and commitment to improve the quality of life in rural communities. Environmental Research & Education Foundation

The Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF) seeks applications for the Sustainable Solid Waste Management Research Program in North America. Pre-proposals must relate to sustainable solid waste management practices in the topic areas of waste conversion to energy, biological conversion technologies, recycling, among others. Previously awarded grants have ranged from $15 thousand to over $500 thousand with an average grant size of about $160 thousand for 2 years. There are no restrictions in regards to geographic location. EREF has two deadlines per year with pre-proposals being accepted 15 days prior to the deadline date. The next application deadlines are 01 December 2020 and 01 May 2021.

Wallonie Bruxelles International

WallonieWallonie Bruxelles International (WBI) offers postdoctoral scholarships through the Excellence Scholarship Program. Focus areas include life sciences, agriculture-industry, environmental technologies, and others. Applications are open to candidates of any nationality that hold a doctor higher education diploma. The deadline for applications for long term scholarships (min. 1 year) is 01 March 2021, and for short term scholarships (1-3 months) is 01 February 2021 and 01 May 2021.

World Food Prize Foundation

Zayed Sustainability Prize

iF International Forum Design GmbH

The iF Social Impact Prize aims to publish and support design projects that contribute to solving urgent challenges and help to improve living conditions in the developing world. Alstom Foundation

The Leibniz-Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB) in Germany invites scientists from all countries and at different career stages to apply for a research visit. The program offers fellowships for PhD students, postdocs, and senior scientists for up to 24 months. The position is intended as an opportunity to join IGB to develop and implement original research ideas in ecology, evolutionary biology, microbiology, Ecohydrology, chemistry, behavioral ecology, genomics, inland fisheries and aquaculture. Conservation, Food and Health Foundation

New Earth Foundation

The New Earth Foundation (NEF) seeks Letter of Inquiries (LOIs) to fund innovative environmental initiatives that are working to help eliminate pollution and to save the planet’s ecosystems, and community projects that create models of social sustainability. Past projects include gardening and building houses in earthquake impacted regions, using solar equipment to provide clean water to poor communities, planting trees for clean air, and many others. NEF only funds 501(c)(3) organizations. Applicants from outside the US may apply through a fiscal sponsor. Letters of Inquiry can be sent at any time during the year. These letters are reviewed twice a year and applicants that fit the requirements will receive the invitation to submit a full grant application. The deadlines for review are 01 February and 01 July each year.

GlobalGiving

GlobalGiving is an online platform to raise funds for grassroots projects worldwide across many sectors and themes – including in agriculture, energy, environment, and natural resources. GlobalGiving announces a new Accelerator program that will offer virtual training in online fundraising and participation in a two-week crowdfunding campaign. The program is open to nonprofit organizations anywhere in the world. Organizations that successfully complete the GlobalGiving Accelerator by raising at least US$5 thousand total from a minimum 40 different donors will earn permanent membership with GlobalGiving, in addition to $30 thousand in matching funding and bonus prizes. Embassy of Japan

The Embassy of Japan in Uganda provides financial assistance to non-profit, development-oriented organizations in support of community development projects in Uganda. Any projects geared towards grassroots assistance are eligible for financing, including water and sanitation, disaster relief, and agricultural development. The grant amount per project is generally under 10 million yen (approx. US$100 thousand). Potential recipients are international or local NGOs, community based organizations, educational institutions and local governments. Global Development Network

The Global Development Network (GDN) and the French Development Agency (AFD) launch the AFD-GDN Biodiversity and Development Award. The program creates an opportunity for researchers based in select developing countries to produce and disseminate quality research and policies relevant to create the link between biodiversity and development. The program consists of four individual research grants (each up to US$40 thousand) for a 24-months project. The call is open to teams of researchers belonging to a university or any other research oriented organizations based in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gabon, Guinea, Guyana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Republic of Congo, Senegal, Tunisia, Uganda, and Vietnam. Expressions of interest must be submitted before 07 March 2021.

The Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS) offers partial funding of wetland-related research conducted by undergraduate and graduate students worldwide. German Government

The International Climate Initiative (IKI) funds climate projects that address pressing challenges in the areas of climate change mitigation and biodiversity conservation, including the unique issues caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The funding amount provided by the German Government ranges from €5 million to €30 million per project. Applicants for funding must apply as a consortium. Nonprofit organizations, enterprises, universities and research institutions as well as international intergovernmental organizations are eligible. The selection procedure is done in two stages. In the first stage, interested implementing organizations submit a project outline. Project outlines must be submitted by 10 March 2021.

KU Leuven

Deadline: 11 March 2021

KU Leuven is the largest university in Flanders, Belgium. As one part of its cooperation to advance international development, KU Leuven offers 10 PhD scholarships to candidates from developing countries. The university offers sandwich scholarships, which means that 50% of the research takes place at KU Leuven and 50% at the home institution of the scholar, as well as full-time research at KU Leuven (4 years). The scholarships are offered to proposals that deal with a development-relevant research topic, preferably linked to the Sustainable Development Goals. Online applications have to be completed before 11 March 2021.

African World Heritage Fund

The African World Heritage Fund (AWHF) provides grants to implement projects and activities which focus on improving the state of conservation of World Heritage properties located in Africa. Project activities are restricted to African government institutions involved in the management and protection of World Heritage sites, both cultural and natural, as defined by UNESCO. The grant will cover direct costs related to project activities. Applicants can apply for up to US$10 thousand in project funding. Projects must be implemented within 12 months. Panthera makes grants for research and conservation of the world's populations of wild cats. The Kaplan Graduate Awards Program (up to US$15 thousand) supports conservation efforts of young biology graduate students working on all wild felids in situ, with a particular focus on threatened species. The Sabin Snow Leopard Grants Program supports in situ conservation efforts on the snow leopard in Asia. The Small Cat Action Fund (up to US$15 thousand) supports in situ conservation and research on many of the world's 31 small cat species. The Winston Cobb Memorial Fellowship is made to an exceptional early-career conservationist to undertake a field-based internship for training and experience on a wild cat conservation project selected by Panthera. Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund

Taiwan's program of development assistance includes scholarships for university students in eligible developing countries to study in Taiwan. The program provides full scholarships for applicants from selected countries in the Asia-Pacific region, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean region, Latin America, and certain other countries. The maximum value of a grant is £8 thousand for research. British Ecological Society

Amphibian Ark

Amphibian Ark offers a wide variety of conservation grants for amphibian research and conservation. Start-up grants are one-time grants of US$5 thousand to help newly-launched projects get started at the very beginning. Start-up grant extensions of US$3 thousand provide continued support for AArk seed or start-up grant projects. Workshop grants of up to US$750 are available to attend conservation-related workshops. Mentorship grants of up to US$1500 are available to organizations which have previously received an AArk seed or start-up grant. Emergency grants offer limited funding to past recipients of AArk grants for emergency situations such as emergency rescue of wild populations facing imminent threat of extinction. Projects should work with species in their range countries, involve range-country biologists, conform to biosecurity standards, and observe other guidelines explained on the website. Applicants are required to submit a brief Project Outline, prior to submitting a full application. The project outline deadline for all grants is 20 March 2021.

It provides scholarships and loans for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from the developing world, with priority for masters studies. The Foundation also considers applications for PhD programs in certain circumstances. American Ornithological Society

BBVA Foundation

The BBVA Foundation makes awards for biodiversity conservation in Spain and internationally. The Foundation’s goal is to publicly recognize the work done by conservationist organizations, institutions and agencies in carrying forward environmental conservation policies and projects. For Spain, there is one award of €250 thousand for actions in biodiversity conservation, and another award of €80 thousand for environmental communication. For the rest of the world, there is one award of €250 thousand for actions in biodiversity conservation. Applications for the worldwide award can be submitted in Spanish or English. Connecting Dreams Foundation

The Fellowship is a 10 month program intended to develop Social Change Leaders who are focused on handling challenges in their local communities. New England Biolabs Foundation

NextWorldNow Community Investments

UNESCO

The UNESCO-Equatorial Guinea International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences rewards projects and activities of individuals, institutions, and NGOs for scientific research in the life sciences leading to improving the quality of human life. Projects in life sciences contribute to poverty eradication, improved health, food and water security. Nominations are submitted by governments of UNESCO's member states, and by NGOs maintaining official relations with UNESCO that are active in the fields covered by the Prize. Scientific Exploration Society

The Scientific Exploration Society (SES) makes awards to "pioneers with purpose" who combine innovative field expeditions with important research contributions, including in subject areas related to environment and conservation. The awards are intended to provide a financial contribution to the overall cost of the fieldwork phase of scientific exploration. Grants range from US$4 thousand to US$7 thousand. Volkswagen Foundation

Through its program 'Freigeist' the Volkswagen Foundation seeks open-minded, strong and resistant young researchers with innovative ideas from all around the world. Pathways International Conference

The Salmon Community Scholarship offers a limited number of scholarships to attend Pathways 2021 (19-22 September, USA). Applicants must demonstrate ability to cover the remainder of their costs not covered by the scholarship (lodging, travel, incidentals, etc.). The Japan Foundation offers the UNU Scholarship to outstanding applicants from developing countries who can demonstrate a need for financial assistance. Holohil Systems Ltd

Holohil Systems Ltd. supplies radio-tracking equipment and related services for wildlife research and management. Holohil manages a grant program to offer transmitters at a reduced or no cost for projects focusing on wildlife species of especially high research and/or conservation value. Holohil will contribute up to C$2,500 toward the purchase of transmitters. Holohil will pay all shipping charges. Eligibility to apply for the grants extends to conservation professionals and researchers anywhere in the world. Support is awarded four times a year. The application deadlines are 15 January, 15 April, 15 July, and 15 October each year.

Marine Mammal Commission

The Marine Mammal Commission invites worldwide proposals on community-driven conservation approaches to eliminate, manage, or mitigate threats to marine mammals. The Commission supports projects on any subject in support of marine mammal conservation, protection, research, and management. All projects must include an outreach, communication, or engagement component that furthers marine mammal conservation or management efforts. Funding requests are limited to US$35 thousand. The submission deadline for proposals is 15 April 2021.

Coimbra Group of Universities

The Australian government contributes to the education of talented individuals in the developing countries through its scholarship programs. Subject areas for study correspond to priorities of Australia's aid programs by regions and countries -- and include agriculture, energy, natural resources, and environment. The call lists countries that are eligible for Australia Awards Scholarships, and country-specific eligibility criteria. The application period for the 2021-2022 scholarships is 01 February 2021 through 30 April 2021.

French Ministry of Research and Education

LabexMER is a program of France's Ministry of Research and Education to address key questions about the global ocean, the deep ocean, and the coastal ocean. LabexMER offers four two-year postdoctoral fellowships for international young scientists to propose research projects in marine sciences to be carried out in one or several LabexMER laboratories in western France. Fellows will receive an annual salary of €37 thousand and support to cover travel expenses, equipment and supplies (€5 thousand per year). The deadline for applications is 30 April 2021.

Indian National Academy of Sciences

India's National Science Academy administers the JRD-Tata Fellowships to support visiting scientists from the developing world and promote South-South cooperation. The program is open to applicants from developing countries (except India) younger than age 45, and who possess doctorate or masters degrees in science or equivalent degrees in engineering/medicine. Past participants have included several in agriculture, biological sciences, and geo-sciences. The fellowship is for three months and includes transportation, maintenance allowance, accommodation, and contingencies. The application deadlines are 30 April and 31 October of each year.

International Herpetological Symposium

J.M. Kaplan Fund

The J.M. Kaplan Fund supports innovation in the fields of environment, heritage conservation, and social justice. The J.M.K. Innovation Prize is particularly designed for early-stage ideas in pilot and prototype phases. The prize provides up to three years of support at US$50 thousand per year, as well as US$25 thousand for technical assistance or project expenses. The Fund makes grants to non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organizations in the USA and to organizations in other countries that have equivalent charitable status. Jana Robeyst Trust Fund

Environmental Research & Education Foundation

The Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF) seeks applications for the Sustainable Solid Waste Management Research Program in North America. Pre-proposals must relate to sustainable solid waste management practices in the topic areas of waste conversion to energy, biological conversion technologies, recycling, among others. Previously awarded grants have ranged from $15 thousand to over $500 thousand with an average grant size of about $160 thousand for 2 years. There are no restrictions in regards to geographic location. EREF has two deadlines per year with pre-proposals being accepted 15 days prior to the deadline date. The next application deadlines are 01 December 2020 and 01 May 2021.

Environmental Research and Education Foundation

Focus areas include life sciences, agriculture-industry, environmental technologies, and others. Applications are open to candidates of any nationality that hold a doctor higher education diploma. The deadline for applications for long term scholarships (min. 1 year) is 01 March 2021, and for short term scholarships (1-3 months) is 01 February 2021 and 01 May 2021.

World Wildlife Fund U.S.

The Alumni Grants are one part of the Russell E. Train Education for Nature Program at WWF-US. Alumni Grants provide ongoing support of former WWF-US fellows and scholars to conduct research or attend conferences and workshops. Grant requests may not exceed US$2,000. World Academy of Sciences

World Academy of Sciences

Einstein Forum

The Einstein Forum and the Daimler and Benz Foundation offer a fellowship for early-career researchers who wish to pursue a project in a different field from that of their previous research. Please note that the proposed project must be significantly different in content, field and form, from the applicant’s previous work. The fellowship includes living accommodations for up to 6 months in Caputh (Germany). The fellow will receive a stipend of €10 thousand and reimbursement of travel expenses. Wildlife Acoustics

Wildlife Acoustics aims to advance animal biology research, habitat monitoring and environmental conservation through bio-acoustics recording technology. The Wildlife Acoustics Scientific Product Grant Program offers US$5 thousand of product-in-kind grants to biologists, researchers, conservationists, and students who work for charitable, educational, and other tax-exempt organizations. There are no geographical limitations. Applications are evaluated quarterly with deadlines on 15 February, 15 May, 15 August, and 15 November.

University of Science and Technology of Hanoi

The University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (also known as Vietnam France University) offers Bachelor, Master, and PhD programs in subject areas that include energy; water, environment, oceanography; and several others. Eligibility to apply extends to Vietnamese and international students graduated from relevant training fields in or before 2021, with good academic results and ability in English. For highly qualified applicants, merit-based scholarships and/or need-based fellowships cover up to 100% of tuition fees and living expenses. iF International Forum Design GmbH

The iF Social Impact Prize aims to publish and support design projects that contribute to solving urgent challenges and help to improve living conditions in the developing world. Solutions should already be established and help to solve well known issues in any category of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The best projects will share a cash prize of €50 thousand in total. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations, companies and foundations (student concepts will not be accepted). There is no deadline, projects can be submitted on a continuous basis. The winners will be decided twice per year, after 27 May and 18 November 2021.

Beit Trust

The Beit Trust supports projects for health, education, welfare, and environment in Malawi and Zambia (Note: Due to uncertainties within Zimbabwe, funds for the construction of major projects are not being committed at this time). Themes include wildlife conservation. Additionally, the Trust’s interests in community welfare include drinking water and irrigation water. Grants do not normally exceed £50 thousand. Applications should be submitted by the end of May and November each year.

CRDF Global

CRDF Global supports research, analysis, or organizational work of young leaders in international scientific cooperation. Three cash awards of US$6 thousand each will recognize innovative and promising approaches to the solution of global problems in international science collaboration, science for international development, and science for global security. Early-career scientists who have received a PhD are invited to submit innovative projects for cooperation between scientists of different countries. The application deadline is 31 May 2021.

Rainforest Trust

The Rainforest Trust partners with local conservation organizations to create new protected areas and expand existing ones for Critically Endangered and Endangered species. The Initiative invites applications for conservation partnerships from nonprofit entities and NGOs for projects in tropical Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Applying organizations may submit proposals for either a land purchase or a protected area designation. Applications to create new protected areas are reviewed three times per year. Roger Williams Park Zoo

The Sophie Danforth Conservation Biology Fund makes grants of up to US$1 thousand to protect threatened wildlife and habitats worldwide. Priority is for projects that demonstrate a multi-disciplinary approach to ecosystem conservation, and that involve in-country collaborators. Projects must directly affect biological conservation. Applicants can be of any nationality but must be associated with an organization (non-profit, university, etc.) through which they can receive funding. The application deadline is 01 June 2021.

Turtle Conservation Fund

The Turtle Conservation Fund (TCF) makes grants to organizations and individuals worldwide for conservation and research of endangered and critically endangered tortoises and freshwater turtles. TCF lists priority species. Most regular grants are US$2 thousand to US$5 thousand per project. The Fund also makes seed grants of US$1 thousand or less. Application deadlines for both programs are 01 June and 01 December of each year.

University of Edinburgh

The University of Edinburgh offers Masters scholarships for distance learning Masters programs offered by the University. Thematic areas include agriculture, veterinary medicine, and engineering, among others. Each scholarship will cover full tuition fees for three years. Waterloo Foundation

The Waterloo Foundation manages an Environment Fund that supports projects to manage and conserve tropical rainforests. Applications are invited from UK charities in partnerships with local organizations in the developing world, and from non-UK organizations that can provide suitable references in the UK. The majority of grants range from £50 thousand to £100 thousand for projects of up to three years. Application deadlines are 01 June and 01 December 2021.

Alstom Foundation

The Alstom Foundation invites projects proposals from NGOs in eligible countries in the Asia-Pacific region, South Asia, Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa (a full list of eligible countries is provided in the call for proposals). The Foundation supports a range of activities, including support for water supply and sanitation; renewable energy; reforestation; waste management; ecotourism; and environmental awareness campaigns. New Earth Foundation

The New Earth Foundation (NEF) seeks Letter of Inquiries (LOIs) to fund innovative environmental initiatives that are working to help eliminate pollution and to save the planet’s ecosystems, and community projects that create models of social sustainability. Past projects include gardening and building houses in earthquake impacted regions, using solar equipment to provide clean water to poor communities, planting trees for clean air, and many others. NEF only funds 501(c)(3) organizations. Applicants from outside the US may apply through a fiscal sponsor. Letters of Inquiry can be sent at any time during the year. These letters are reviewed twice a year and applicants that fit the requirements will receive the invitation to submit a full grant application. Nonprofit organizations, enterprises, universities and research institutions as well as international intergovernmental organizations are eligible. The selection procedure is done in two stages. KU Leuven

KU Leuven is the largest university in Flanders, Belgium. As one part of its cooperation to advance international development, KU Leuven offers 10 PhD scholarships to candidates from developing countries. The university offers sandwich scholarships, which means that 50% of the research takes place at KU Leuven and 50% at the home institution of the scholar, as well as full-time research at KU Leuven (4 years). The European Union intends to boost innovation in agriculture and food systems transformation of partner countries with a view to be more resilient to the effects of climate change. The European Commission calls for applied research projects to address climate change adaptation and resilience of family farming in Angola. The priority of this call is to find options for the improvement of family farming, test them, and assess their contribution to resilience. Grant funding ranges from €800 thousand to €1 million. Adaptation Fund

The Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA) provides small grants to developing countries to support innovation for effective, long-term adaptation to climate change. The program is open to nonprofit, civil society organizations, cooperatives, and community based organizations. The eligible countries include developing countries in Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America and Caribbean. AFCIA will select 25 project concept notes in total to implement micro-projects (maximum funding US$250 thousand per project). The application deadline is 30 April 2021.

The Australian government contributes to the education of talented individuals in the developing countries through its scholarship programs. Subject areas for study correspond to priorities of Australia's aid programs by regions and countries -- and include agriculture, energy, natural resources, and environment. The call lists countries that are eligible for Australia Awards Scholarships, and country-specific eligibility criteria. The application period for the 2021-2022 scholarships is 01 February 2021 through 30 April 2021.

French Ministry of Research and Education

LabexMER is a program of France's Ministry of Research and Education to address key questions about the global ocean, the deep ocean, and the coastal ocean. LabexMER offers four two-year postdoctoral fellowships for international young scientists to propose research projects in marine sciences to be carried out in one or several LabexMER laboratories in western France. Fellows will receive an annual salary of €37 thousand and support to cover travel expenses, equipment and supplies (€5 thousand per year). The deadline for applications is 30 April 2021.

Indian National Academy of Sciences

India's National Science Academy administers the JRD-Tata Fellowships to support visiting scientists from the developing world and promote South-South cooperation. The program is open to applicants from developing countries (except India) younger than age 45, and who possess doctorate or masters degrees in science or equivalent degrees in engineering/medicine. Past participants have included several in agriculture, biological sciences, and geo-sciences. The fellowship is for three months and includes transportation, maintenance allowance, accommodation, and contingencies. The application deadlines are 30 April and 31 October of each year.

United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization

The UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development honors outstanding efforts of individuals, institutions, organizations or other entities engaged in activities on Education for Sustainable Development. Nominated projects and programs should address the three integrated dimensions of sustainability -- society, economy, and environment -- in innovative ways. The Prize consists of three annual awards of US$50 thousand each. Nominations can be submitted by governments of UNESCO member states, and by NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO. The deadline for nominations (English, French) is 30 April 2021.

United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change

Women's World Summit Foundation

The Women’s World Summit Foundation (WWSF) invites nominations for its annual Prize for Women’s Creativity in Rural Life. The prize honors women's groups for exceptional creativity, courage, and commitment to improve the quality of life in rural communities. World Academy of Sciences

The Samira Omar Innovation for Sustainability Prize recognizes woman scientists from least-developed countries with scientific achievements in clean and renewable energy; sustainable agriculture and agro-biodiversity; plastic pollution and microplastics, water purification and sanitation, climate change, waste management, biodiversity conservation, and other themes related to sustainability. The winner will receive a cash award of US$4 thousand. Candidates should be working and living in an LDC country for at least two years prior to nomination. The deadline for nominations is 12 May 2021.

U.S. Embassy in South Africa

The South African Fulbright Foreign Student Program provides grants for university graduates to pursue postgraduate studies at a United States university. The Fulbright program covers graduate degrees up to two years. The scholarship is not restricted to programs or specific subject areas. Applications for the 2022-2023 academic year have to be submitted by 14 May 2021.

Einstein Forum

The Einstein Forum and the Daimler and Benz Foundation offer a fellowship for early-career researchers who wish to pursue a project in a different field from that of their previous research. Please note that the proposed project must be significantly different in content, field and form, from the applicant’s previous work. The fellowship includes living accommodations for up to 6 months in Caputh (Germany). The fellow will receive a stipend of €10 thousand and reimbursement of travel expenses. Candidates must be under 35 and hold a university degree in the humanities, in the social sciences, or in the natural sciences. Applicants have to submit their application by 15 May 2021.

University of Science and Technology of Hanoi

The University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (also known as Vietnam France University) offers Bachelor, Master, and PhD programs in subject areas that include energy; water, environment, oceanography; and several others. Eligibility to apply extends to Vietnamese and international students graduated from relevant training fields in or before 2021, with good academic results and ability in English. For highly qualified applicants, merit-based scholarships and/or need-based fellowships cover up to 100% of tuition fees and living expenses. The next application deadlines are 16 March and 18 May 2021.

iF International Forum Design GmbH

The iF Social Impact Prize aims to publish and support design projects that contribute to solving urgent challenges and help to improve living conditions in the developing world. Solutions should already be established and help to solve well known issues in any category of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The best projects will share a cash prize of €50 thousand in total. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations, companies and foundations (student concepts will not be accepted). There is no deadline, projects can be submitted on a continuous basis. The winners will be decided twice per year, after 27 May and 18 November 2021.

Regional Studies Association

The Regional Studies Association (RSA) covers issues in the fields of climate change, energy, migration, and economic development. RSA makes travel grants of up to £500 to its members to present their work, network and participate in non-RSA events. (Note: non-members are encouraged to apply and join RSA). CRDF Global

CRDF Global supports research, analysis, or organizational work of young leaders in international scientific cooperation. Three cash awards of US$6 thousand each will recognize innovative and promising approaches to the solution of global problems in international science collaboration, science for international development, and science for global security. Early-career scientists who have received a PhD are invited to submit innovative projects for cooperation between scientists of different countries. The application deadline is 31 May 2021.

German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety

The NAMA Facility Ambition Initiative supports countries who plan to increase their emissions reduction plans and gear toward a carbon-neutral economy. The German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) provides funding and invites project applications for a combination of technical assistance and climate finance, to enable partner countries to implement their enhanced NDCs. Funding ranges between €5-20 million. The NAMA Facility is open to projects across a range of countries and sectors. The deadline for project outlines (i.e., preliminary proposals) is 31 May 2021.

Filmmakers Without Borders

Filmmakers Without Borders seeks applications for its Filmmaking Grants to support independent filmmakers around the world via grants and other funding initiatives. Supported projects include narrative films, documentary films, and new media projects that align with themes of social justice, empowerment, and climate change. Grants are available for all of the following stages of production: Development (up to US$1,000); Production (up to US$5,000); Post-production: (up to US$2,500); and Film Festival Applications (up to US$750). There are three grant cycles throughout each year (Spring/Summer/Fall). The application deadlines are 01 January, 01 June and 01 August 2021.

University of Edinburgh

The University of Edinburgh offers Masters scholarships for distance learning Masters programs offered by the University. Thematic areas include agriculture, veterinary medicine, and engineering, among others. Each scholarship will cover full tuition fees for three years. Individuals must be nationals of developing countries listed in the announcement. The scholarship deadline is 01 June 2021.

German Federal Environmental Foundation

Deadline: 15 June 2021

The German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU) offers 60 research fellowships per year to young scientists in Germany and internationally across all disciplines of environmental protection. The funding period is 36 months with a monthly stipend of €1,500. DBU welcomes subjects of international importance, although the work has to be done mainly in Germany, and with a clear reference to the German environmental situation. DBU expects good German language skills from all applicants. The application deadlines are 15 January and 15 June each year. (Note: Application procedure in German.)

U.S. Department of State

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program supports non-degree academic study and related professional experiences in the U.S. for experienced professionals from countries that are undergoing development or political transition. Fellows are hosted at universities in the USA. Program fields include agriculture and rural development; natural resources, environmental policy, and climate change; and many others. Applications are made through the U.S. Embassies or Binational Fulbright Commissions in eligible countries, with varying deadlines. Applications have to be submitted by 15 June 2021.

Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education

The Orange Knowledge Program (OKP) makes scholarships to mid-career professionals from selected developing countries for short courses (duration 2 weeks to 12 months) and master's programs (duration 12-24 months). Eligible countries as well as eligible courses are listed in the announcement. Interested applicants need to first select a course and then contact the education institution of the course and ask how to apply for the scholarship. The scholarship program offers three application rounds each year. The current application deadlines are 23 March, 29 June and 12 October 2021.

BBVA Foundation

The BBVA Foundation annually makes awards to recognize innovative and fundamental advances in science, culture, and collaboration. Thematic areas include ecology and conservation biology; climate change; and development cooperation (among others). In each prize category, BBVA awards €400 thousand plus a diploma and commemorative artwork. The awards are open to individuals and organizations of any nationality. (Note: Self-nomination is not permitted.) The deadline for nomination is 30 June 2021.

New Earth Foundation

Deadline: 1 July 2021

The New Earth Foundation (NEF) seeks Letter of Inquiries (LOIs) to fund innovative environmental initiatives that are working to help eliminate pollution and to save the planet’s ecosystems, and community projects that create models of social sustainability. Past projects include gardening and building houses in earthquake impacted regions, using solar equipment to provide clean water to poor communities, planting trees for clean air, and many others. NEF only funds 501(c)(3) organizations. Applicants from outside the US may apply through a fiscal sponsor. Letters of Inquiry can be sent at any time during the year. These letters are reviewed twice a year and applicants that fit the requirements will receive the invitation to submit a full grant application. The deadlines for review are 01 February and 01 July each year.

GlobalGiving

Deadline: 16 July 2021

GlobalGiving is an online platform to raise funds for grassroots projects worldwide across many sectors and themes – including in agriculture, energy, environment, and natural resources. GlobalGiving announces a new Accelerator program that will offer virtual training in online fundraising and participation in a two-week crowdfunding campaign. The program is open to nonprofit organizations anywhere in the world. Organizations that successfully complete the GlobalGiving Accelerator by raising at least US$5 thousand total from a minimum 40 different donors will earn permanent membership with GlobalGiving, in addition to $30 thousand in matching funding and bonus prizes. The application deadline is 16 July 2021.
