Products and Seeds at the World Social Forum

In Cotonou, Benin, the 2026 World Social Forum hosted an exhibition space dedicated to agroecology, bringing together producers and organizations from several countries. Participants showcased a diversity of local food products and farmers’ seeds, highlighting local agricultural practices, crop diversity and farmers’ knowledge and expertise.

The exchanges emphasized the importance of farmers’ seed systems for food and seed sovereignty, including the ability of farming communities to conserve, use, exchange and further develop crop varieties adapted to their environments and food needs.
