The Summit, supported by Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR), aims to bring together partners to increase and accelerate investment in and support for agriculture and food systems innovation for climate action.
The Summit is a premier global event “for the partners, by the partners” that will provide a game-changing platform for AIM for Climate partners to raise ambition and amplify their work in climate-smart agriculture and food systems innovation.

09/05. High-level Ministerial on the Agriculture Breakthrough
The UK Government and CGIAR convened international leaders to accelerate climate action in agriculture, as part of the AIM for Climate Summit.- The event featured a preview of the preliminary findings and recommendations for agriculture of the independent Breakthrough Agenda Report for 2023, authored by CGIAR with the FAO’s Chief Scientist and UN High Level Climate Action Champions.
- The report to be launched in September will provide analysis and recommendations for countries on seven priority technologies for the agriculture sector, including novel fertilizers, alternative proteins, crop and livestock breeding and agroecology.
- The event provided agriculture ministers with an opportunity to set ambition for the 2024 Priority Actions under the Agriculture Breakthrough to be launched at COP28.

CGIAR hosted an off-site event as an official part of the AIM4C Summit’s program. The event at the IFPRI highlighted the need for greater funding for agrifood systems R&D and provided an opportunity to meet with climate scientists working on modelling impacts of climate change on crop productivity, food security and livelihoods. Presentations spotlighted CGIAR research and innovations, including AIM4C innovation sprints.

09/05 Innovation for Inclusive Impact: Putting Women at the Heart of our Food Systems Investments
This event, hosted by the Gender, Climate Change and Nutrition Integration Initiative (GCAN), supported by U.S. Agency for International Development and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada will make the case for why we need to integrate gender into the global response to climate change, particularly in low- and middle-income countries facing food security and nutrition challenges. It will describe examples of gender-responsive, climate-smart agriculture innovations and entry points for scaling these approaches with the help of governments and the private sector.
